HEY BISH!

Introuducing: Your New Favorite Wedding Officiant

Bishop's Story and the BISH WEDS *VISION*

Like most of my peers, I got into the wedding industry from trying to plan my own ceremony. This quickly became difficult, as both myself and my spouse are non-binary, and don't relate to gendered terms like "Bride" or "Groom" - kind of a big deal in the Wedding World.

While it was the best day ever (see below), we spent hours, blood, sweat, and tears seraching for help/vendors/venues familiar with queer, non-binary couples (spoiler, it's RARE).

But we did it! And it was easily the happiest best day of my life. After we got hitched, I had finally collected all the tools I was missing when I started - the same tools and resources most diverse couples also look for.

Rather than waiting for the next time I need to plan my wedding (ideally never), I built BISH WEDS - focused on creating personal/custom ceremony experiences and celebrating diverse, queer, and inclusive representation in formal events and ceremonial spaces.

Rituals and Traditions

If you're anything like me, you might've had a very different vision for your wedding growing up. Being raised in religion (Mormonism), I was under the impression I'd be married in a modest dress in a white temple with a very exclusive guest-list. Since then, I've found community with folks who don't relate to "the standard" or what's tradditionally "appropriate".

I wanted my ceremony to still feel like a wedding, but without most of the standard traditions...and maybe some new ones.

Whether you come from different faiths, cultures, backgrounds, traditions, etc. - you deserve to feel accurately represented, honored, and celebrated on your wedding day.

Making it Memorable

There is no standard rule-book for your wedding ceremony, which means the world is your oyster. At its core, a marriage ceremony is recognizing the legal/formal union of two folks witnessed by their community. As your wedding officiant, it's my goal to support and guide you through the twists and turns of marrying - from the license to the vows, rituals and traditions.
